Terms of Use
Plain-language terms for using GibbsEd.
Who may use GibbsEd
Accounts are issued by a teacher to their own students, or by an administrator to a teacher at their school. There is no self-signup for students. Do not create an account for someone else or share login credentials.
Acceptable use
- Use the site for your own schoolwork. Submit your own work unless your teacher has asked otherwise.
- Be kind. Do not submit content that harasses, threatens, or targets another person.
- Do not attempt to access another student's account or submissions, probe the site for vulnerabilities, or run automated scraping.
Content you submit
You keep ownership of whatever schoolwork you submit. By submitting it, you allow your teacher to read and grade it, and you allow GibbsEd to store it as needed to provide the service. For short-answer writing, your response text may be sent to a third-party language-model provider for practice feedback (see Privacy for details).
Availability
GibbsEd is offered as-is, without any warranty. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, outages, or for reasons beyond our control. Grades of record are kept in the school's official grade book, not in GibbsEd.
Account closure
A teacher or administrator may disable an account that is being misused. A teacher or student may also request account deletion by contacting support (see Contact).
Changes
If these terms change, the update will appear on this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
